The last two years have been ones of change happening so quickly and so often that it's been difficult to find time to even process it all. My best friend through it all has been Jesus as usual.
The most positive change has been to see through the cognitive distortions of fake Christian "leaders" who are more intent on shaping your behavior to fit their theological distortions of the will of God for your life.
It's positive because the power for how to lives one's life shifts from the "leader" to the disciple to Jesus to the disciple.Ideally, it should be the former but too many have their own inner, unresolved, emotional/psychological issues and are trying to resolve them via controlling the behavior of others rather than going to a counselor for their own healing.

It's some kind of weird combination of displacement, projection, and transference that is practiced by these leaders. The real issue is not that they have issues but that they are so convinced that they can hear Gods voice so perfectly that they subconsciously believe they are infallible towards the congregation.That fallacy can never be acknowledged because it would create too much anxiety and expose their inner weakness. Consequently, they themselves are doomed to live in shame and blaming others, just like Adam and Eve, instead of facing the truth about themselves.
The reason this change is so positive is that the emotional drain is removed and you're free to be yourself in the sight of God without the fear of someone bearing false witness against you and attempting to shame your thoughts, choices, goals, dreams, and existence. Under the guise of "help", they actively attempt to decide what is best for you and whether you are "mature or holy" enough. Once you are away from that environmentally dysfunctional atmosphere, you are free to breathe the pure oxygen of the Holy Spirit and be what God meant you to be in this life.
Isaiah 61:7-8Amplified Bible (AMP)
Instead of your [former] shame you will have a double portion;
And instead of humiliation, your people will shout for joy over their portion.
Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited];
Everlasting joy will be theirs.
And instead of humiliation, your people will shout for joy over their portion.
Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited];
Everlasting joy will be theirs.
For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery with a burnt offering.
And I will faithfully reward them,
And make an everlasting covenant with them.
I hate robbery with a burnt offering.
And I will faithfully reward them,
And make an everlasting covenant with them.
The double portion is the inheritance of the firstborn. Romans states that we are joint heirs with Christ, in other words, Jesus is the firstborn of God as a human being and we share his inheritance with him.
The moment you escape from toxic faith or religion to true faith and healing, you will initially experience a little sadness but that will soon be replaced by an immense amount of joy and contentment. That is the will of God forever human being and any system of religion or government that robs you of that birthright needs to be changed or removed from your life.
Sometimes that will involve breaking relationships with friends, family, or churches that want to conform you to their image and likeness instead of encouraging growth in Christ. Jesus said that when we find the truth it will set us free, but he also promised that this truth will separate us from family, friends, and religious leaders who fear the truth or don't understand the truth.
Life's changes are ultimately positive but they may take us through some negative experiences first.
